Contract of Carriage Law and Legal Definition
A “contract of carriage” is a contract relating to those transactions covered by a bill of lading or similar document of title. The definition includes such transactions covered by a bill of lading under or pursuant to a charter party. 46 USCS § 1301 (b). See also Karobi Lumber Co. v. The S.S. Norco, 249 F.
