Conversion (Bankruptcy) Law and Legal Definition
Conversion as used in Bankruptcy laws refer to cases under bankruptcy code which may be converted from one chapter to another chapter. For example, a case filed under chapter 7 may be converted to a case under Chapter 13 if the debtor is eligible for Chapter 13. Even though the chapter under which the case is filed changes, the case remains the same as originally filed.
