Conversion Divorce Law and Legal Definition
A conversion divorce is also termed as convertible divorce or conditional divorce. A conversion divorce is like a no-fault divorce. Conversion divorce is a divorce which is granted after a legal separation has been granted or the parties have signed a separation agreement. This is also granted where the parties have lived separately for a statutorily prescribed period. Generally, the allegations in a complaint for a conversion divorce are that the parties have entered into a separation agreement, the plaintiff has abided by all of its terms and conditions, and the parties have lived separate and apart pursuant to it for a specified period.
