Cooperative Agreement [Wildlife Law] Law and Legal Definition
According to 50 CFR 222.102 [Title 50. Wildlife and Fisheries; Chapter II. National Marine Fisheries Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Commerce, Subchapter C. Marine Mammals; Part 222. General Endangered and Threatened Marine Species; Subpart A. Introduction and General Provisions], ‘cooperative agreement’ means “an agreement between a state(s) and the National Marine Fisheries Service, NOAA, Department of Commerce, which establishes and maintains an active and adequate program for the conservation of resident species listed as endangered or threatened pursuant to section 6(c)(1) of the Endangered Species Act.”
