Counterfeiter is a person who makes an unlawful imitation or duplication of something with an intention to cheat or defraud. For example, a person who makes unauthorized copies of documents, imitates another person’s signature, makes coins or currency illegally is called a counterfeiter. The term refers to a person who makes copies illegally.
