Critical Characteristic Law and Legal Definition
According to 30 CFR 7.2 (Title 30 - Mineral Resources; Chapter I - Mine Safety And Health Administration, Department Of Labor; Subchapter B - Testing, Evaluation, And Approval Of Mining Products; Part 7 - Testing By Applicant Or Third Party; Subpart A – General), critical characteristic means “a feature of a product that, if not manufactured as approved, could have a direct adverse effect on safety and for which testing or inspection is required prior to shipment to ensure conformity with the technical requirements under which the approval was issued.”
