Cross action is an action brought between co-defendants or co-plaintiffs in a case. Such an action relates to the subject of the original claim or counterclaim.
A cross action is also termed cross claim. A cross action is different from a counterclaim. A counter claim is a claim against an opposing party, while a cross action is against a co-party.
