Cure and Maintenance Law and Legal Definition
The term cure and maintenance refers to a provision under the Jones Act. The Jones Act stipulate that an injured sailor shall receive cure and maintenance for any injury sustained during their employment in the Vessel. The Act mandates that the ship owner or employer must provide the seaman with the same accommodations on land that s/he would receive on ship.
