Custodial Interrogation Law and Legal Definition

Questioning initiated by law enforcement officers after a person is taken into custody or otherwise deprived of his or her freedom in any significant way.

A custodial interrogation is defined as "questioning initiated by law enforcement officers after a person has been taken into custody or otherwise deprived of his freedom of action in any significant way." United States v. Isch, 2009 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 67264, 3-4 (W.D. Okla. Aug. 3, 2009)
