Custom Law and Legal Definition
The term “custom” indicates general practices and usages that by common adoption and unvarying habit have come to have the force of law. Custom has been categorized into four types: Conventional custom, general custom, local custom and legal custom. A custom derives its force of law from the tacit consent of the legislature, general adoption by people, and through medium of agreements.
