Customer Number Law and Legal Definition
With respect to Patent law, customer number is a number that is assigned by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO). The customer number is used to simplify the submission of an address change, to appoint a practitioner, or to designate the fee address for a patent. Earlier, customer numbers were referred to as payor numbers. Customer numbers are primarily used by attorneys and law firms, and should be requested using the request form.
