Customs Broker Law and Legal Definition
Customs broker is also known as customhouse broker. Customs broker refers to a broker who prepares the necessary documents, calculates the taxes and duties, and communicates between importer/exporter and governmental authorities for the entry or clearance of ships and for the import or export of goods. The customs broker(s) are licensed by the Treasury Department for clearing goods through U.S. Customs.
