Daughters of the American Revolution Law and Legal Definition
Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a patriotic society which is open to women with one or more ancestors who fought for the American Revolution. It was founded in 1890 and chartered by Congress in 1895. DAR has chapters in all fifty of the U.S. states as well as in the District of Columbia. The DAR aims to preserve and mark historic places throughout the United States.
