De Facto Discrimination Law and Legal Definition
De facto discrimination means discrimination in practice but not necessarily ordained by law. It can be discrimination based on a person's race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc. faced by that person or group in the daily conduct of everyday life in a particular society that is not supported or mandated by the laws of that society. Sexual harassment in the workplace is an example of de facto discrimination.
