Debarring Official [Education] Law and Legal Definition
According to 34 CFR 85.935 (a) [Title 34 – Education; Subtitle A -- Office of the Secretary, Department of Education; Part 85 -- Governmentwide Debarment and Suspension (Nonprocurement); Subpart I – Definitions], the term debarring official means “an agency official who is authorized to impose debarment. A debarring official is either --
(1) The agency head; or
(2) An official designated by the agency head.”
