Decision Law and Legal Definition
Generally speaking, decision is the outcome of a mental process. It can be said as the selection of a course of action from among several alternatives. Legally, it is a conclusion reached by a jury or agency after evaluating facts and law in question. It includes rulings, orders, or judgments pronounced by a court when considering or disposing of a case. Decision refers to both administrative and judicial determinations. In judicial matters, decision and opinion are different. Opinion is a mere statement of the court while decision is the final pronouncement of the solution in a case.
