The term ‘defaulter’ refers to a person who is in default. The term may be used in many contexts.
A defaulter may be a person who fails to make a required court appearance.
A person who fails to perform a task or fulfill an obligation, especially a financial obligation (for example, a default on a loan) may be referred to as a defaulter.
A person who misappropriates or fails to account for financials held in the person’s official or fiduciary capacity may also be referred to as a defaulter.
