Defendemus is a term that is derived form the Latin term ‘defendere,’ meaning ‘we will defend.’ This is a term used in conveyancing, to require the donor and the donor’s heirs to defend the donee against any attempted encumbrance that is not specifically agreed to. It is seen that defendum is used as a part of warranty clause, although it was not a warranty.
