Defunct Law and Legal Definition
Defunct means something which has ceased to exist. A defunct corporation is a corporation that has suspended all operations and is out of business. A company is not considered defunct if the cessation of business is due to the conduct of winding up. A defunct corporation can be revived and the process of revival is complicated in most jurisdictions.
