Demilitarized Zone Law and Legal Definition
Demilitarized zone or DMZ is a defined area in which the stationing or concentrating of military forces, or the retention or establishment of military installations of any description is totally prohibited. In other words, a demilitarized zone is an area where military activity is not permitted, usually by peace treaty, armistice, or other bilateral or multilateral agreement.
