Descent Cast Law and Legal Definition
Descent cast refers to the devolving of title to real estate upon the heir upon the death of his ancestor intestate. It is a term used for the most part in designation of the acquisition of color of title by heirs where the ancestor, although possibly a trespasser originally, died in possession under claim of right.
