According to 10 CFR 830.3 (a) [Title 10 Energy; Chapter III Department of Energy; Part 830 Nuclear Safety Management], design features means “the design features of a nuclear facility specified in the technical safety requirements that, if altered or modified, would have a significant effect on safe operation.”
