Designated Public Transportation Law and Legal Definition
According to 49 CFR 37.3 [Title 49 – Transportation; Subtitle A -- Office of the Secretary of Transportation; Part 37 -- Transportation Services for Individuals with Disabilities (ADA); Subpart A – General], designated public transportation means “transportation provided by a public entity (other than public school transportation) by bus, rail, or other conveyance (other than transportation by aircraft or intercity or commuter rail transportation) that provides the general public with general or special service, including charter service, on a regular and continuing basis.”
