Designation of beneficiary refers to the notice or form signed by a beneficiary along with two other people as witnesses, declaring the persons who will receive the life insurance benefits of the policy. Designation of beneficiary is not mandatory. Failure to file the designation of beneficiary will result in distribution of money according to the order of legal precedence.
