Deus Ex Machina Law and Legal Definition
Deus ex machina is a Latin term meaning "god out of the machine". It refers to a god lowered by stage machinery to resolve a plot or save the hero from a difficult situation in a Roman or Greek drama. In some ancient drama, an apparently impossible crisis was sometimes solved by the intervention of a god, often brought on stage by an elaborate piece of equipment.
