Dichotomy Law and Legal Definition
Dichotomy literally means division. It is the division of a whole or a set into two parts or subsets or complements. The subsets will not be overlapping on each other. The subsets will be mutually exclusive and jointly exhaustive. The matters contained in one set will not be contained in the other set. Everything belonging to the whole set will be contained in one set or the other.
