Director's Alternate Decision Law and Legal Definition
A Director’s alternate decision means a decision issued by a presiding judge on behalf of the appropriate Director(s). Presiding Judges are delegated the authority to prepare and issue Director’s alternate decisions. A Director’s alternate decision is issued by a presiding judge when he/she decides not to adopt a judge’s certified proposed decision and allow the decision to be adopted by Action of Law, or order a further hearing. A Director does not adopt his/her own decision. A Director’s alternate decision should be released on or before the certification expiration date or the certified proposed decision will be adopted by Action of Law.
