Discontinuance of Estate Law and Legal Definition
Discontinuance of estate is the termination or interruption of an estate tail by a grant by the tenant in tail of a larger estate than s/he had. Discontinuance of estate may either defeat the estate of the tenant in tail or that of the remainderman or reversioner.
