Discrepancy Law and Legal Definition
Discrepancy is the divergence or disagreement or conflict between facts, figures or claims. It is the difference between one thing and another. Discrepancy may be material or immaterial. Material discrepancy occurs when there is such a difference between a thing alleged and a thing offered in evidence, as to show they are not substantially the same. An immaterial discrepancy is one which does not materially affect the cause.
