Dislocation Allowance Law and Legal Definition

Dislocation allowance refers to a military grant sanctioned due to a household relocation because of a permanent change in station. An officer may claim dislocation allowance as soon as s/he arrives at post, completes the travel voucher, and returns it to the travel contact for processing.

Pursuant to 37 USCS § 407, the amount of the dislocation allowance to be paid to a member shall be based on the member's pay grade and dependency status at the time the member becomes entitled to the allowance.
