Divine Command Theory Law and Legal Definition
The Divine command theory is a theory of ethics. The theory states that right is commanded by God and the wrong is prohibited by God. According to the theory the rightness of any action depends upon that action being performed because it is a duty, not because of any good consequences arising from that action.
