Division of child support is a division of the Department of Social and Health Services that helps families establish and enforce child support orders both medical and financial. They help one parent or custodian to collect child support from the other parent. They also establish paternity with or without the help of the courts. The services provided by division of child support includes tracing the parent who is responsible for providing child support, establishing paternity, establishing child support orders through courts, help in enforcing legal orders, disbursing financial support collected on behalf of the children in a child support case, maintaining records of the payments received from the responsible parent and disbursed to the custodial parent, working with other states to establish and enforce child support orders, and reviewing child support orders to determine if the amount is appropriate for both parties.
