The term ‘divorce proctor’ is used to refer a person who is appointed to protect the interest of the state or children in a divorce suit. For example, a guardian appointed to protect the interest of a child in a divorce action is a divorce proctor. In some cases, a divorce proctor is simply called a proctor.
