Documents Against Payment D/P Law and Legal Definition
Documents against payment or D/P is a term used in international banking. It is an arrangement made by an exporter instructing the bank in which the s/he presents the draft, for transferring the shipping and title documents to the importer only upon the payment of the accompanying draft.
