Dolphin Mortality Limit Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 50 CFR 216.3 [Title 50 -- Wildlife and Fisheries, Chapter I -- United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Department of The Interior], the term Dolphin Mortality Limit (DML) means “the maximum allowable number of incidental dolphin mortalities per calendar year assigned to a vessel, unless a shorter time period is specified.”
