Domestic Violence Call Law and Legal Definition
Domestic violence call refers to calls from victims of domestic violence.
A domestic violence call is made when an adult, child, or a family member or member of an unmarried couple is alleged to be the victim of:
a. physical injury or fear of imminent physical injury (explicit or implied threats);
b. sexual abuse or in fear of imminent sexual abuse;
c. unlawful imprisonment/kidnapping;
d. property crime;
e. stalking; or
f. violation of terms or conditions of a protective order by the other party.
Officers responding to a domestic violence call 'have a duty to ensure the present and continued safety and well-being of the occupants.
