Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban Law and Legal Definition
The Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban is an amendment to the Omnibus Consolidated Appropriations Act of 1997. The amendment is also known as the Lautenberg Amendment. The amendment expanded prohibition on the purchase, ownership, or possession of guns. The prohibition is mainly on persons convicted for domestic violence misdemeanor offences.
