Donation Land Law and Legal Definition
Donation Lands are property granted from the public domain to an individual as a gift. It is usually given in reward for services rendered or to encourage settlement in a remote area. For example, land in the western part of Pennsylvania that was set apart after the American Revolution for soldiers who received it in lieu of pay.
