Drilling Permit Law and Legal Definition
Drilling permit refers to legal permission granted to drilling contractors and well operators before drilling any well which will penetrate deeper horizons. In order to obtain drilling permit, well operators have to file an application as required under The Gas Operations Well-Drilling Petroleum and Coal Mining Act.
However, no permit will be issued for the drilling of a well unless the location of the well is at least three hundred thirty feet from the nearest outside boundary line of the property on which it is located.
