Drug-Courier Profile Law and Legal Definition
Drug-Courier Profile is a set of characteristics found to be typical of persons transporting illegal drugs. Law enforcement officers often rely on such profiles to justify stopping and question citizens as to if they are carrying illegal drugs. However, a nationally recognized drug-courier profile does not exist. There is no consistent amalgam of traits that ineluctably leads to a stop of a suspect. The combination of factors looked for not only varies among law-enforcement agents, but varies from airport to airport as well.
