EB-1 Visa Law and Legal Definition
EB-1 visa is an employment based green card classification. People who possess extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics; people who are outstanding professors or researchers; and multinational managers are eligible to apply for an EB-1 visa.
Aliens with extraordinary ability are those with "extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics which has been demonstrated by sustained national or international acclaim and whose achievements have been recognized in the field through extensive documentation." For example, a Nobel Prize winner shall be qualified for an EB-1 classification. Only few workers receive this type of award.
