Effective Dose Equivalent (H[E]) Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 20.1003 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 20 -- Standards for Protection Against Radiation; Subpart A -- General Provisions], the term effective dose equivalent (H[E]) “is the sum of the products of the dose equivalent to the organ or tissue (H[T]) and the weighting factors (w[T]) applicable to each of the body organs or tissues that are irradiated (H[E] = [SIGMA] w[T]H[T]).”
