Effective Porosity [Energy] Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 960.2 [Title 10 Energy; Chapter III Department of Energy; Part 960 General Guidelines for the Preliminary Screening of Potential Sites for a Nuclear Waste Repository; Subpart A General Provisions], Effective Porosity means “the amount of interconnected pore space and fracture openings available for the transmission of fluids, expressed as the ratio of the volume of interconnected pores and openings to the volume of rock.”
