Electric Motor Vehicle Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 490.2 [Title 10 Energy; Chapter II Department of Energy; Subchapter D Energy Conservation; Part 490 Alternative Fuel Transportation Program; Subpart A General Provisions], the term Electric Motor Vehicle means “a motor vehicle primarily powered by an electric motor that draws current from rechargeable storage batteries, fuel cells, photovoltaic arrays, or other sources of electric current and may include an electric-hybrid vehicle.”
