Electric Reliability Organization Law and Legal Definition
According to 18 CFR 39.1 (Title 18 -- Conservation Of Power And Water Resources; Chapter I -Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Department Of Energy; Subchapter B - Regulations Under The Federal Power Act; Part 39 - Rules Concerning Certification Of The Electric Reliability Organization; And Procedures For The Establishment, Approval, And Enforcement Of Electric Reliability Standards), Electric Reliability Organization or “ERO” means “the organization certified by the Commission under § 39.3 the purpose of which is to establish and enforce Reliability Standards for the Bulk-Power System, subject to Commission review.”
