Eligible expenses refer to the reasonable and customary charges incurred for the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease, or for the purpose of affecting any structure or function of the body or the expense that is agreed upon as a health services fee for health services and supplies covered under a health insurance plan. For example, expense incurred for surgery, doctor's services, private nursing, medicines, X-rays, and hospital bills are categorized as eligible expenses.
Eligible expenses incurred by participants of flexible spending accounts (FSA) are paid using the debit card issued by their employers.
