Emergency Health Services Law and Legal Definition
Emergency health services means services necessary to prevent and treat the damaging health effects from an emergency situation. It includes services to control communicable disease, immunization, laboratory services, and dental and nutritional services. Further, emergency health services includes the following:
a. first aid treatment of ambulatory patients and those with minor injuries;
b. public health information on emergency treatment, prevention, and control; and
c. administrative support including maintenance of vital records and providing for a conduit of emergency health funds from state and federal governments.
