Emergency Responder [Transportation] Law and Legal Definition
According to 49 CFR 239.7 [Title 49 – Transportation; Subtitle B -- Other Regulations Relating to Transportation; Chapter II -- Federal Railroad Administration, Department of Transportation; Part 239 -- Passenger Train Emergency Preparedness; Subpart A – General], emergency responder means “a member of a police or fire department, or other organization involved with public safety charged with providing or coordinating emergency services, who responds to a passenger train emergency.”
