Energy Information Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 207.2 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter II -- Department of Energy; Subchapter A – Oil; Part 207 -- Collection of Information; Subpart A -- Collection of Information under the Energy Supply and Environmental Coordination Act of 1974], the term energy information includes “all information in whatever form on (1) fuel reserves, exploration, extraction, and energy resources (including petrochemical feedstocks) wherever located; (2) production, distribution, and consumption of energy and fuels, wherever carried on; and (3) matters relating to energy and fuels such as corporate structure and proprietary relationships, costs, prices, capital investment, and assets, and other matters directly related thereto, wherever they exist.”
