Energy Unit Savings Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 436.31 [Title 10 Energy; Chapter II -- Department of Energy; Subchapter D Energy Conservation; Part 436 Federal Energy Management and Planning Programs; Subpart B Methods and Procedures for Energy Savings Performance Contracting], the term energy unit savings means “the determination, in electrical or thermal units (e.g., kilowatt hour (kwh), kilowatt (kw), or British thermal units (Btu)), of the reduction in energy use or demand by comparing consumption or demand, after completion of contractor-installed energy conservation measures, to an energy baseline established in the contract.”
